Gabz-Tech
Repair Terms & Conditions
These terms explain the basis on which Gabz-Tech accepts devices for diagnosis and repair. Customers are asked to read them before signing a Repair Authorisation.
1. Repair authorisation
By signing a Repair Authorisation, you confirm that you own the device or have authority from the owner to request diagnosis or repair, and you authorise Gabz-Tech to handle, inspect, open and test the device as reasonably necessary for the requested work.
2. Quotes and additional work
Prices given before inspection may be estimates. Where further faults or parts are identified, Gabz-Tech will seek approval before carrying out additional chargeable work.
3. Data and backups
You should back up important data before handing over a device. Repair and diagnostic work can involve hardware or software faults that may affect stored data. Gabz-Tech does not intentionally access personal content except where reasonably required for testing with your permission.
4. Existing damage and device condition
Devices may have pre-existing physical, electrical, liquid or internal damage. Opening or testing a previously damaged device can reveal hidden faults. The condition reported by the customer and any visible damage may be recorded when the device is accepted.
5. Liquid-damaged and severely damaged devices
Liquid damage and severe impact damage can cause progressive or intermittent faults. A successful repair cannot guarantee that unrelated damage will not appear later.
6. Parts
Replacement parts may vary by availability, device model and agreed repair option. Any material difference relevant to the repair will be explained where appropriate.
7. Warranty
Any repair warranty offered will apply only to the specific repair or replacement part stated by Gabz-Tech. It does not cover unrelated faults, accidental damage, liquid damage, misuse, subsequent third-party repair or new damage occurring after collection.
8. Collection and delivery
Collection or delivery may be available for an additional charge depending on location. Arrangements and charges should be agreed before collection or delivery.
9. Uncollected devices
Customers should collect completed or unrepaired devices promptly after notification. If a device remains uncollected for an extended period, Gabz-Tech will make reasonable attempts to contact the customer before taking any further action permitted by law.
10. Testing
You authorise reasonable functional testing before and after repair. Where a passcode is required for testing, you may choose whether to provide it. Some functions may be impossible to verify without access.
11. Cancellation
If you cancel after parts have been specially ordered or diagnostic work has begun, reasonable costs already incurred may still be payable where legally permitted and previously communicated.
12. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms removes or limits rights you have under applicable UK consumer law.
13. Contact
Questions about a repair or these terms can be sent to Gabz-Tech using the contact details on this website.
